"Peace and Tranquillity"
Built in 1840 and brought back to life from a ruin in 1999, Chalet Les Parts offers an authentic French "alpine" experience. This residence started life in the early 19th century as an alpine pasture chalet and its history is evident the moment you enter the door.
Located just a stones throw from the cable car and the railway station in Vallorcine and a short walk from the village centre you will find real peace of mind, away from noise and passers by.
Unsurpassable views and authentic character are unique assets of Chalet Les Parts, particularly in the living area where the preserved old wood structure offers a warm, welcoming feel.
There are five double bedrooms one of which is a family room (1 double, 1 pull down single bed, 1 bunkbed), 2 bathrooms as well as three spacious living areas. In addition, there is a sofa bed for those occasions which require more than 5 doubles and 3 singles, The chalet also has a garden and large decked balcony area complete with barbeque, outdoor dining facilities and great views down the valley. Nearby, other "Alpage'" chalets complement the bucolic atmosphere and alpine experience.
The chalet offers all modern facilities such as under-floor heating, fully fitted kitchen (with bar!) and wireless broadband access together with added mountain charms such as its own private spring water supply, not to mentioned the 6ft cedar hot tub.
Access is via a footpath (300m long) near the Vallorcine train station. Normally it is a 5-7 minute walk in summer, perhaps up to 10 mins in snow.
Access to the new Vallorcine cable car is easy: just put on your skis at the front door and point them at the ski station.
If you are looking to be the buzzing heart of a large resort and within rolling distance of your nearest mock British Ale-house, please click elsewhere. However, if you want authenticity and some peace and quiet, pack your walking boots for the visit.
The remote location of Chalet Les Parts is not a barrier for those in search of a night on the tiles. The Chalet is well served by the Mountain railway which links it directly to the Centre of Chamonix. Get the train back or alternatively a taxi ride is only 17km followed by the ten minute walk up the hill.
